Focus on business resilience drives business continuity recruitment
The business continuity recruitment market, having been relatively quiet for most of 2009 is rapidly improving. Business resilience is an increasing concern of senior management and as a result resources are now being committed to business continuity planning.
Although much business continuity work is done at a project level where costs are still being contained, many companies are reviewing their business continuity management planning at a strategic level. As a result there has been an increase in the availability of new senior business continuity jobs across a wide range of sectors. Due to cost control, there have been fewer junior positions than expected.
The contract market continues to be relatively subdued. Conversely, the business continuity consulting market is growing rapidly. Consultancies are offering competitive rates that allow companies to benefit from the assurance they provide without paying a preventative premium above independent contractor rates.
